Scally Cola, er ... Coke lies again ...

Using their very clumsy and hard to use question form I asked Coke a very simple question. Why they do not acknowledge that the inventor of Coke was a Confederate veteran?

The reply was an out lie:

Mr. Crane, while we mention Pemberton was a Civil War veteran on our web site, we did not provide his full biography, and therefore did not go into details about his service.

They do list biographical information and even include General Wheeler, who they also do not mention was a Confederate general. Note that Coke provides funds for the celebration of just about every ethnic background and heritage under the sun, except one! Southern!

Your Money, being used to slander and discredit Your Heritage!!! Every time you buy a Coke (product) you contribute to the politically correct effort to eliminate Southern Heritage!

The bio information provided by Coke on the inventor:

John Stith Pemberton was born in Knoxville, Crawford County, Georgia in 1833 and early in life moved to Columbus, Georgia. In this city he grew up and attended the local schools. He obtained a degree in Pharmacy at Macon, Georgia. Later in Columbus he went into business, becoming a pharmacist and then a wholesale druggist. In 1853 he married Miss Clifford Lewis, of Columbus. During the latter part of the War Between the States, in June, 1864, he organized Pemberton's Cavalry in which were enrolled many pioneer residents of the Columbus community. He served with this organization in the rank of the famed General Joe Wheeler. In 1869 Pemberton moved to Atlanta where he engaged himself in the same business of a pharmacist. Over the years his health declined and Dr. Pemberton died on the night of August 16, 1888 at his home in Edgewood, an Atlanta community. He was survived by his wife, Clifford, who died in 1909,and by one son, Charles M. Pemberton, who died in 1894. To learn more about the history of The Coca-Cola Company click here.
